Despite the rain, spirits were high at this year's Run Reigate, where enthusiastic participants came together to support Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Charity. Among the crowd were dedicated staff members, including children’s nurses, dementia nurses, doctors, and intensive care team colleagues, many of whom took part after finishing their night shifts. Their participation is a true testament to their unwavering commitment—proving that caring for patients doesn’t stop when their shifts end.

One of the day’s most inspiring participants was Charlotte, a grateful patient who raised an impressive £600. Her heartfelt contribution will go directly towards providing memory boxes for relatives of patients in the hospital’s intensive care unit, offering much-needed comfort during challenging times.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Busy Bean Coffee Machine for their incredible generosity. Not only did they keep participants and supporters fuelled with coffee, but they also donated 50% of their sales from the day to support vital projects at the hospital.

This year’s Run Reigate truly showcased the power of community and teamwork. From the tireless efforts of medical professionals to the overwhelming support from the local community, every single contribution will make a significant difference in patient care at East Surrey Hospital.

Together, we’ve shown that even the rain can’t dampen the spirit of giving. Thank you to everyone who ran, donated, or cheered from the sidelines.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteers, David and Lorraine, for their help on the event day. We are so thankful for your support.
