Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful local community, East Surrey and Crawley Hospitals’ diagnostic imaging departments are now equipped with two patient positioning mammography chairs.

Mammography requires precise positioning and can often be uncomfortable for patients. These new chairs not only enhance patient comfort but also assist in capturing high-quality images, crucial for accurate diagnoses.

Feedback from patients and staff has been overwhelmingly positive:

"Thank you so much for your generous support and for helping us get the mammography chairs in place"

"They’re already making a significant difference in our department."

Patients have expressed their appreciation for the added support during their appointments:

"The chairs have greatly improved the overall patient experience".

These new chairs are lighter and more comfortable than the standard NHS mammography chairs, making it easier to maneuver patients into the optimal position. This not only reduces the risk of musculoskeletal injuries among mammographers but also reduced repetitive strain injuries. The height-adjustable feature and lightweight design contribute significantly to the safety and ease of handling for both staff and patients.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who donated to the SASH Charity fund. Your contributions have made a tangible difference in patient care and safety.
