We’re challenging individuals and teams to dedicate 24 hours, split over a timeframe of your choice, to engage in fundraising activities your liking, all while making a difference for patients and the staff who work tirelessly in our Emergency Department.
Why 24 hours for the Emergency Department?
The Emergency Department plays a critical role in our community, offering essential, life saving care to us all when we need it most, 24 hours a day. In a typical 24 hours over 100 blue light emergency ambulances arrive, plus people arriving on foot for emergency care.
This is the first time we’ve had an appeal to help people give directly to the Emergency Department, and we’re really excited about what might be possible with your help.
By fundraising for the E.D., you’ll be helping the team to improve care for people in emergencies and their loved ones, as well as helping to enhance the rest facilities for the 300 life-saving staff who work in the Emergency Department.
The relentless demands on emergency healthcare professionals can take a toll. With your help we will enhance the rest facilities for hospital staff, as well as visiting paramedics, police officers and others.
We aim to show our support and gratitude by rallying together for a cause that directly benefits both patients and staff in the Emergency Department.
How can you get involved?
Participation is easy and flexible - individuals or teams can choose any activity, hobby or challenge to undertake for a total of 24 hours, spread over a timeframe that suits you. Whether it's a 24 hour gaming marathon, a series of mini challenges, or any other creative/sporty endeavour, by setting up a sponsorship page for the appeal, your dedication will make a significant impact.

How do I sign up?
1) Choose your activity - select an activity you love or have always wanted to try. You can upload your time spent completing your activity to your page using apps such as Strava.
2) Set your 24 hour goal - plan how you will spread your 24 hours over a timeframe that suits your schedule.
