Join the nation this July and host your own NHS Big Tea party to raise funds for SASH Charity. You can brew up a storm on 5 July, the 75th birthday of the NHS, or any day that week.

Whether you get together at home, at school, in the office, or in your local community, there are so many ways to raise money at an NHS Big Tea. From asking for donations in return for tea, cake and good company, to hosting a quiz, playing tea related games or running baking competitions. The possibili-teas are endless!

Hosting an NHS Big Tea is a great way to bring communities together around a shared love of the NHS and raise funds to help one of our fundraising projects supporting Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust.

Enhancing a staff room for the Emergency Department

Our current projects are; raising funds to enhance a staff room used by 300 colleagues in our Emergency Department. The current staff room requires renovating and staff have helped to shape what their future staff room will look like. Ideas which will make a difference to their life-saving duties are; a changing area with a privacy curtain, wardrobe and lockers, a functional kitchen, comfortable seating and new tables and access to an outdoor courtyard.

Transforming an overnight room for the Neonatal Unit

Olive's appeal has already achieved amazing things for the Neonatal Unit at East Surrey Hospital. We have one final big project to support parents of premature babies who require treatment from our neonatal services. You can help us transform an overnight room, which will allow parents to stay close by to their babies, helping to alleviate worries.

Helping SASH NHS colleagues facing financial hardship

The Hardship Fund is there for SASH colleagues who are facing short-term financial hardship. The feedback from staff who have received support in their times of need is truly touching. "Even though I will never be able to see you face to face to thank you, I am humble by what you have done. For I am a complete stranger, a normal working person, who was on the brink of giving up until I found the about the Hardship Fund which I was ashamed to reached to and asked for help. Nevertheless, you have extended your hand to help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart".

Creating a space amongst nature for patients affected by cancer

This summer, we would love to buy a summerhouse for patients affected by cancer through donations raised via our Cancer Fund. We are extremely close to reaching this target. The summerhouse will be for anyone who is using the cancer centre and will be situated in the enclosed garden at the Macmillan Centre at East Surrey Hospital.

Saying "yes" to ideas from NHS staff

Our General Fund allows us to say "yes" to great ideas from staff. You can view a full list here detailing the ways staff ideas have shaped services for patients and colleagues.

Everyone can get involved and every cuppa makes a difference.

So, grab your teapot, pop the kettle on and let’s get brewing!
