Golfers from across Surrey & Sussex came together for the first SASH Charity Golf Day, in support of our work to refurbish the chemotherapy suite at East Surrey Hospital, and support other great ideas from hospital staff.

The day was kindly supported by Santander Consumer Finance (who also entered teams in the competition) and over 50 people including hospital staff, businesses, and former patients gathered at Kingswood Golf and Country Club, Surrey, raising over £7,800!

Golfers took part in competitions including for the longest drive, nearest the pin, beat the pro, as well as a yellow ball competition, and of course the overall team prize.

A fundraising auction gave attendees the opportunity to bid for prizes including golf related experiences and items, an overnight stay in a master suite at Nutfield Priory, as well as the money can’t buy (normally!) opportunity to play a round at The Wisley golf club, undoubtedly one of the finest golf courses in the country.

The money raised will help SASH Charity fund new chemotherapy chairs in East Surrey Hospital, which cares for thousands of people each year from Surrey & Sussex, as well as helping to enhance two overnight rooms for parents of premature babies.

Thanks to Santander Consumer UK for their generous support for the event, and to everyone who supported the event, or donated prizes, including (in alphabetical order)

David Brenes Photography, Kingswood Golf & Country Club, Mark Pain, Nutfield Priory and Spa, and everyone else who contributed to a great day.

Congratulations to all the prizewinners on the day, and thanks to everyone who joined us for a great day – your donations will directly help us give the best possible care to people affected by cancer here in Surrey and Sussex.
